Less and less
2025
Less and Less unfolds as a visceral dialogue between movement and memory.
Two dancers, bound together by a harness, navigate the fragile tension between codependency and self-definition. Rooted in weighted suspension and counterbalance, the movement language embodies the inescapable pull of the past and the slow erosion of identity under its weight.
The choreography progresses in fragments, shifting between moments of fluid synchronicity and sudden collapse, mirroring the disorienting transformations that occur when we carry the echoes of others—and of ourselves—for too long.
Dramaturgically, the work explores depersonalization, returning again and again to a central question: Is this truly me?Each gesture becomes a negotiation between inherited grief and individual agency, with the body acting both as a vessel for memory and a site of resistance.
Ultimately, the piece invites audiences to reconsider the narratives that shape identity and to engage in a collective reckoning. It questions the inherited traumas and cultural baggage we often mistake for our own stories. While these legacies may hold value and wisdom, they are not ours to redeem.
As a society, we fixate on the question Where do we come from? Less and Less dares to ask the more elusive and vital question: Who are we?
Through movement, symbolism, and narrative, the work exposes the fragile line between heritage and individuality, challenging us to confront how the weight of the past continues to tether us—even as we long to break free.
