LOKI

2020 / 2023

“Why does one try to fit in? How can one choose to fit in?
Not you and I of course, we don’t have that luxury.

We are unpredictable...

How can we fit what we outgrow as soon as we acknowledge it?

Some of us are misfits
We don’t want to be defined
We don’t want to be reduced or contained
Limited, disempowered...
But we want to be remembered
We wanna be called out,
Called for…
We want someone to scream our name for the divine it contains

For the moment it is heard, it makes our existence ...

Undeniable

Oh Loki...
What’s in that name?
Something to remember
To then be forgotten
Some names seem harder to say
For the fear we have of saying them

What’s in a name?
To be denied a name is to be destined to be forgotten.”

“This is about liberation, but also about lost becoming and heartbreaking sadness. It’s devastatingly beautiful, and perhaps the best thing I’ve seen Dans I Nord do.”

Norrbotten Kuriren, Simon Olofsson

"Loki […] a being portrayed as a villain and trickster, but who is simply trying to assert his existence under the scrutiny of a society that doesn't know what to do with him."
